In alignment with our mission of prioritizing self-expression, we wanted to take a moment to highlight the small but important nuances of life such as how co-founder of Verdurous Women and digital creator, Saavan Sagar is spending her time these days, what she’s making time for and most importantly, how she takes her coffee. Explore the interview below.
What does self-expression mean to you?
Self-expression is everything to me. It took me awhile to give myself the allowance to present exactly how I feel inside. I spent lots of time in spaces that I didn't feel like I belonged and once I was able to navigate away from those spaces I suddenly had all this time and energy to dedicate to my truest expression.
What is something you prioritize or make time for?
I feel so much better if I take my time and put intention into the food I eat. It's such a fundamental part of all of our daily lives and I believe it should not be rushed whenever possible.
What's a skill you've gotten better at with time?
Clearly and concisely communicating my needs. I feel like you can command your reality if people are able to understand the things you need to feel cared for, loved and considered.
How do you take your coffee?
Black and simple - also design qualities I'm drawn to. One major exception is airplane coffee, which I have a strange affinity for and I like it with two sugars. The perfect balance of insanely bitter and sickeningly sweet.
